Elegant hand-painted faience pitcher by Hubert Bequet, crafted in Quaregnon, Belgium during the 1950s–1960s — the golden era of the manufacture.
This model No. 872 features a distinctive sculptural shape with a twisted handle and a refined flared spout. The decoration showcases the iconic “Bird of Paradise” motif in deep cobalt blue, enhanced with rich gold detailing.
This piece belongs to the “Castel” line, reserved for the manufacture’s high-end production. In Quaregnon, the “Castel” designation was specifically used for luxury pieces finished with high-quality gold (often 22k–24k) rather than standard gilding. The deep, warm tone of the gold — without any coppery or dull appearance — reflects the use of premium materials.
A highly collectible example, further enhanced by the presence of its original label.
