1990s Ikea DRÖMMINGE Yellow Balloon Wall Lamp – New Old Stock

The DRÖMMINGE balloon lamp designed by Sarah Fager in the 1990s for IKEA takes inspiration from the iconic Balloon lamp created by Yves Christin for Bilumen in 1975.

The playful balloon shape recalls the joyful and lighthearted spirit of Christin’s original design, which became an icon of 1970s Italian lighting. With its bright yellow color and soft rounded form, this lamp brings a cheerful and dreamlike atmosphere to a room while diffusing a warm, gentle light.

Today it works just as well as a nostalgic design accent in a hallway, studio or modern interior.

Now discontinued and increasingly sought after by collectors of vintage IKEA and 90s Scandinavian design.

This example is new old stock, unused and still wrapped – a rare find for a piece from this period.
